Letter from the Under-Secretary-General

by Muhammed Karahan

Dear Delegates,

As the Under Secretary Generals of the Disarmament and International Security Committee at the İleriMUN’24 conference, it is our pleasure to welcome you all to this important gathering. As a whole organization, we are here to address some of the most problematic issues of our day and to find effective solutions that can be implemented in the real world.

Our agenda is the most important, and the most problematic issue that the Balkans face. In the historical timeline, the Balkan Region always played a critical role in ensuring the world order because of its geopolitical importance. This region is characterized by an extraordinary dynamic of change, which is a consequence of the interrelationship between geography and history. Since the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the high tension in the Balkans never decreased. In the guide, we will be addressing every single problem around our agenda.

Furthermore, we would like to express our gratitude to our Secretary General, Director General, and Deputy Secretary General.

Hopefully, you will come up with tangible and effective solutions after fruitful debates.
