The Agenda

Tackling the Issue of Weaponization in the Balkans

As a committee, we have gathered to address an issue of key importance for peace and stability in the Balkans. The Balkans have historically been a region shaken by conflicts and disagreements. Therefore, the need to establish a comprehensive framework for disarmament in the Balkans must be emphasized.

This agenda is based on the belief that peace and security can be achieved in the Balkans region through a controlled and systematic reduction of weaponization. This reduction applies not only to the state actors involved but also to non-state actors. We must foster an environment in which guns are no longer a symbol of power or a source of threat, but a relic of the past.

There are disarmament efforts in the Balkans and the promotion of international peace and cooperation through past treaties, and by participating in this meeting, we demonstrate our collective commitment to regional and international peace.

At this conference, we will examine the feasibility of past treaties and formulate a tangible and feasible action plan. We aim to make the peace longer and stronger in the region.
